Inspiration Wednesday

I'm going to try something: posting regularly. Ha!
I have all these little quotes (mostly on Pinterest) that sit in my head and sometimes pop up just when I need them.
Wednesday seemed as a good a day as any to do them, right?
(It was either that or Monday...)

*whose post could also serve as my 'inspiration wednesday' quote for a year.

All that Glitters...will never leave your house

(Tree by Oana Befort)

Merry Belated Christmas!
Now that it's officially 2012, why don't I talk about our Christmas decorations?
This year I was requested to decorate our mantlepiece, and I decided to do one of those glitter-explosion projects that I've been pinning and obsessing over.
So I made this charming little sign (with red velvet ribbon from Anthropologie) and I'm totally in love with it.
The only bad part? My parents' entire garage is covered in glitter. It looks like the Snow Queen (she was always glittery, wasn't she?) died in there.
But it's awesome. These pictures are not from me, but I promise to take some photos eventually to share my craftiness. I was very impressed with myself.
The tree you see at the top of this post is not mine. It's Oana Befort's.
I have seen a lot of blog-world Christmas trees this year and I think hers is my favorite.
I am especially smitten with the little mushrooms (and I know a friend who will be too!).
Oana is also an amazing illustrator (check out that little owl in the picture below!), and I don't doubt we will be seeing a lot more of her in the months and years to come.
I am in love with everything she does.

It's like a drug to me*

*if you know where that quote is from, let's bask together in that squeamish middle-school-dance level of second hand awkward that was every single moment of bd:p1 (minus the birth? maybe?....nope)

Minna Parikka

I pinned these shoes a while ago because I thought they were absolutely beautiful.
A charming update on Dorothy's ruby reds.
I also thought, sadly, that I would never know who made them.
But!
But now I do. I was perusing Anthropologie today and what do I find? The shoes!
Granted, they were in blue, but there was a name there!
Minna Parikka.
So now I've been to her website, and do you know what? The shoes come in multiple colors!!
They are very $$$, yes indeed.
But as you can tell from my previous entries, a girl can dream.
